What is SkillDuck and how does it work?
SkillDuck is an AI-based authoring tool that enables companies to create high-quality, fully developed web-based trainings (WBTs), e-learning modules, and complete courses in a very short time. It can output content in any language and also generate professional images, graphics, and even videos.

With SkillDuck, the creation of modern, interactive, and didactically sound WBTs is transformed—efficient, visually compelling, and fully GDPR-compliant.
Courses created with SkillDuck can be used in any LMS.
Who is SkillDuck for?

Can the AI in SkillDuck automatically generate complete courses?
Yes. SkillDuck can automatically generate content, course structures, learning objectives, texts, quiz questions, and summaries on any topic.
Can SkillDuck be customized to our company’s corporate design?

Can SkillDuck process our own documents?
Yes. SkillDuck can automatically convert your own documents—such as PDFs, presentations, Word files, or internal guidelines—into structured, interactive e-learning modules. These documents can either serve as the sole basis for a web-based training or be enriched with additional world knowledge from large language models (LLMs). This allows you to quickly turn your existing materials into high-quality, pedagogically meaningful courses.
Are documents uploaded to SkillDuck publicly accessible?
No. Your documents are processed for course creation but they are not stored.
Can SkillDuck create trainings in any language?
Yes. SkillDuck allows you to generate any language version of a web-based training within minutes. The AI ensures that tone, structure, and didactic quality remain consistent across all languages. This enables global teams to provide high-quality, linguistically unified learning modules quickly.
How are the different language versions updated?
SkillDuck updates all language versions automatically. When you make a change in one language, all other language versions are synchronized immediately. You don’t need to edit each language separately—one update keeps all versions up to date.
Are AI-generated contents reliable?
They provide an excellent starting point and a solid foundation for web-based trainings on any topic. The AI agents are trained to run plausibility checks on the content. However, all automatically generated content should be reviewed before publication. Final subject-matter validation remains the responsibility of the author or company.
How does SkillDuck handle copyright for AI-generated content?
SkillDuck generates content based on generative AI models. The responsibility for using the content lies with the company. Authors should ensure that no protected data or third-party trademark rights are violated.
Who owns the content created with SkillDuck?
All content you generate with SkillDuck—texts, images, media, quiz questions, complete courses—fully belongs to your company. SkillDuck does not claim ownership of any generated learning content.
Can I continue using exported courses without an active license?
Yes. Once a course is exported as SCORM, it is technically independent of SkillDuck. You can run it in your LMS indefinitely, even after your SkillDuck license expires.
Which export formats does SkillDuck support?
SkillDuck supports SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, and also exports pure HTML5 learning modules. These formats work in virtually all modern learning management systems.
Which data is tracked in the LMS via SCORM?
Typically: status (passed/not passed), score, progress, time spent in the course, quiz interactions, and optional additional learning analytics.
What is a Floating License?
A floating license allows multiple authors to access a set number of concurrent usage slots.
Example: 10 potential authors but only 3 floating licenses → a maximum of 3 people can work in the tool at the same time.
In the Enterprise version, you receive the agreed number of floating licenses.
What are the advantages of a Floating License?
It’s ideal when many people occasionally edit content but only a few work simultaneously. This helps teams save costs and stay flexible. Floating licenses are included in the Enterprise version of SkillDuck.
What happens if all floating licenses are in use?
The next user must wait until an active user frees up a slot. As soon as an author ends their session or logs out, the spot becomes available again. Floating licenses are part of the Enterprise version of SkillDuck.
Does SkillDuck support collaboration?
Yes. Several people can edit, view, and comment on courses.
How does course review work?
Stakeholders can receive preview links or leave comments directly in the system. Feedback can be collected centrally and implemented immediately.
What system requirements do I need?
SkillDuck runs in modern browsers such as Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. No additional installations are required.
Can videos, images, and large files be embedded?
SkillDuck automatically generates a web-based training that includes AI-generated content, images, graphics, quizzes, and videos.
It also supports adding common media formats afterward, such as MP4, PNG, JPG, PDF, and more.
How does SkillDuck protect my data?
SkillDuck uses secure transmission, encrypted storage, and role-based access controls. Companies remain owners of their data and content. All processing performed by AI services and third-party providers takes place entirely within the EU/EEA.
Does SkillDuck process personal data?
No. All data processing is GDPR-compliant, and companies can request a DPA (data processing agreement) if needed.
Can I test SkillDuck before purchasing?
Yes. SkillDuck offers free trial periods so teams can test the features beforehand.
What happens to my data when the license is terminated?
You can export all projects (SCORM, HTML5). Exported courses belong to you and remain usable indefinitely. Project data in your SkillDuck account is removed after the contract ends in accordance with data protection guidelines.
Are all data stored and processed exclusively within the EU/EEA?
Yes. The AI authoring tool for web-based trainings SkillDuck was developed entirely in Germany.
Is processing by the AI services or third-party providers used also carried out entirely within the EU/EEA?
Yes. With SkillDuck, processing by the AI services and third-party providers used takes place entirely within the EU/EEA.
